I had a great time working with ‘Walk The Plank’ on the ‘Sowing Seeds’ project back in April 2017. So, I was excited when they commissioned me to do a series of photo essays covering ‘Manchester Day.’
The Manchester Day parade in August brings together communities from all over Manchester in a glorious celebration parading through the streets of Manchester.
I love working with people who perform. It takes me back to my first experiences in professional photography when I used to photograph theatrical performances in Southport.
The best thing about this project was that I was to photograph sessions before the actual parade. I covered two choreography and dance sessions, one of the ‘making’ sessions when costumes and props are made, and finally the parade itself.
